About
Aurora School of Music offers instruction in piano, voice, guitar, percussion, woodwinds, strings, and brass. The program also includes a Theater Camp: Theory of Relativity and Recital Prep Classes, all held in new, modern facilities with a state of the art auditorium and classrooms.
The Aurora School of Music was established in 2003 by Vera Holczer, a Hungarian pianist. Its mission states that learning music at Aurora School of Music is connected to confidence, community, and world-class education, with an emphasis on fun and life-long memories of becoming a great musician. The school’s new music facility was completed in 2016 and includes a state of the art auditorium and classrooms.
Faculty at Aurora School of Music have degrees from institutions such as the Cleveland Institute of Music, Oberlin Conservatory, Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory, University of Akron, Kent State University, Manhattan School of Music, Eastman School of Music, Carnegie Mellon, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Boston University, Northwestern University, and UCLA, as well as international institutions including St. Petersburg Conservatory in Russia, Koninklijk Vlaams Conservatorium in Belgium, and the Conservatoire National de Boulogne-Billancourt in France. ASM prepares many young students for auditions to selective ensembles such as local musical theater programs, The Cleveland Orchestra Chorus, Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra, the Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony, the Contemporary Youth Orchestra, and the Akron Youth Symphony.
