Fieldstone Farm Therapeutic Riding Center

Fieldstone Farm Therapeutic Riding Center offers therapeutic riding, where children and teens take 45-minute group riding lessons with two to four students of similar ages and abilities. It also offers Equine Partnerships, where children and teens groom, lead, and work alongside horses, and a Summer Camp for children aged 6 and up that includes riding every day, outdoor nature, art activities, and horse care.

Programs

• Therapeutic Riding — Children and teens; children aged 6 and up for summer camp · 45-minute group riding lessons; weekly, year-round · Group lessons with two to four students with similar ages and abilities. Lessons are in the climate controlled indoor arena, or outside on trail or in the outdoor arena.
• Equine Partnerships — Children and teens · Students learn mindfulness, communication and trust while grooming, leading and working alongside horses in the arena, out on trail or in the round pen.
• Gaitway High School — Teens · Alternative high school partnership between Fieldstone Farm and Educational Service Center of the Western Reserve (ESCWR).
• Carriage Driving — Children and teens; adults; veterans
• Schools and Groups — Group programming for schools, non-profits and other organizations.
• Educational Workshops — Throughout the year · Experts in the field lead workshops to advance learning.
• Veteran Programs — Veterans and active-duty programs · One of the country's largest programs for veterans; free to all participants.
• Summer Camp — Children aged 6 and up · Weekdays from early June through early August · Campers ride every day and also enjoy outdoor nature, art activities, and horse care.
• Horse Tales — Children · Children spend 15 minutes reading a favorite book out loud to one of the therapy horses in the barn.
• Virtual Learning Activities — Library of videos and activities to learn more about horses from home.

About the provider

Fieldstone Farm Therapeutic Riding Center was founded in 1978 and states that it has helped tens of thousands of people since then. All instructors are certified, the majority of staff has been with Fieldstone for 10 years and many for 20 years or more, and the board is an active 18-member board with 100 percent annual giving. The organization also partners with more than 50 other non-profits, schools, and other organizations and serves more than 1,000 students annually from throughout Northeast Ohio.

• Chefs Unbridled — Annual fundraiser will be Sat., Sept. 11, 2027.

There is a waiting list for new students. New students complete an assessment lasting about an hour and costing $40. The program partners closely with parents, doctors, therapists, teachers and counselors to design meaningful sessions.
