Fieldstone Farm Therapeutic Riding Center offers therapeutic riding, carriage driving, and mindfulness and trust-building work with horses on the ground. The program uses 30 therapy horses, and most of the horses are donated. Therapy horses at Fieldstone Farm help students reach milestones they never thought possible. The program serves people of all ages with emotional, physical and cognitive challenges, and students range in age from four to 80 years old and older. Fieldstone Farm is a welcoming community with a tradition of inclusivity to those of all ages, races, genders, economic backgrounds and abilities.

Founded in 1978, Fieldstone Farm Therapeutic Riding Center is one of the largest therapeutic riding centers in the country and one of the most respected therapeutic equine centers in the country. The program serves more than 1,000 students annually and has approximately a $2.8 million annual budget. Fieldstone Farm houses an alternative high school on site and offers one of the most comprehensive veterans programs in the country. All of the instructors are certified. Fieldstone Farm has an active 18-member board, and 100 percent of the board give annually.

Fieldstone Farm engages the therapeutic power of its horses to discover and nurture the special abilities of individuals, families and communities. The organization partners with more than 50 other non-profits, schools and other organizations throughout Northeast Ohio. Fieldstone Farm hosts an annual fundraiser called Chefs Unbridled at the Chagrin Valley Hunt Club Polo Field in Gates Mills and hosts several instructor training and educational workshops throughout the year. Fieldstone Farm continually receives the highest ratings from Charity Navigator, GuideStar, and PATH International.

One parent shared, “Being around the horses gives Alani a sense of happiness like nothing else.” The same parent said, “The horses just sense what she is going through and they gently lay their head on her to comfort her.”
