Firelands Scout Reservation

Lake Erie Council, BSA – Nova STEM Program offers Science Nova Activities, Technology Nova Activities, Engineering Nova Activities, and Math Nova Activities as part of its STEM focus. The program includes hands-on activities guided by Nova counselors and mentors, along with experiments and studies within different STEM fields.

• Schedule: Open Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

The mission of the Nova STEM Program is for Scouts to explore and expand on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through their current Scouting programs, while recognizing and awarding their additional efforts, and to foster curiosity and understanding of STEM concepts and their real-world applications. Each Nova activity has an associated Merit Badge that Scouts need to earn in addition to completing the activity. Scouts can earn a Nova award for each of the four STEM areas and can aspire toward earning the Supernova Award. Scouts can work with a mentor to complete their own experiments and studies within different STEM fields to earn three prestigious awards, which are presented to the Scouts in a ceremony.
