Camp Hamwi & Diabetes Day Camps

Camp Hamwi & Diabetes Day Camps includes activities such as archery, horseback riding, canoeing, games, hayrides, water games, a talent show, and a treasure hunt. Camp Hamwi offers a Junior Challenge that packs a week of nonstop fun while teaching important diabetes management skills. Camp Hamwi also offers a Senior Challenge for older campers, and learning about diabetes can start at an early age through its diabetes day camps called Kids Camp and Stepping Stones.

• Ages: 3–17 years old

For the past 125 years, LifeCare Alliance has met the changing medical and nutritional needs of the community. Kids Camp (ages 3–7) and Stepping Stones (ages 8–12) are diabetes day camps. LifeCare Alliance states its mission as “To serve those in need, through compassionate, responsive, quality care.” LifeCare Alliance is central Ohio's first in-home health care agency, Ohio's first agency to provide visiting nurses, and the nation's second agency to deliver Meals-on-Wheels. Project OpenHand-Columbus marks 20 years as a LifeCare Alliance program.
