Since 1963, Columbus Children’s Theatre (CCT) has been a cornerstone of youth arts education and performance in central Ohio. CCT’s mission is to transform families through the power of the stage. Its Sandbox Series focuses on brief, easily digestible theatre for ages 0–8, the Spotlight Series is geared toward families and youth audiences and features young artists, and the Professional Series features professional performers, designers, technicians, and the most advanced students. CCT offers sensory-friendly performances, tuition assistance, subsidized tickets, outreach residencies, and workforce development opportunities, and serves more than 85,000 individuals annually through education, performance, and outreach in classrooms, rehearsal studios, libraries, community centers, and on stage. CCT is committed to anti-racism, equity, and accessibility and to creating a space of safety, strength, and belonging for those who are marginalized, and continues to work with immersive storytelling, cross-sector partnerships, and a strategic vision to build a permanent education center and accessible theatre in the heart of Columbus. Featured faculty member Nick Cosgrove has been working as a professional singer, actor, voice teacher, and acting coach across the U.S. and Canada for over 20 years and received his BFA in Acting/Musical Theatre from Carnegie Mellon University. A patron described CCT’s production of Ragtime as “inspiring” and noted a standing ovation at the end of act one.
