Since 1963, Columbus Children’s Theatre (CCT) has been a cornerstone of youth arts education and performance in central Ohio. CCT’s mission is to transform families through the power of the stage. The organization has grown into a nonprofit serving more than 85,000 individuals annually through education, performance, and outreach, and it continues to use immersive storytelling, cross-sector partnerships, and a strategic vision to build a permanent education center and accessible theatre in Columbus. CCT provides tuition assistance, subsidized tickets, outreach residencies, and workforce development opportunities, and it is committed to anti-racism, equity, and accessibility while encouraging people of all races, ethnicities, classes, genders, identities, abilities, sizes, ages, and experience levels to participate onstage, backstage, and in the audience.

Featured faculty member Nick Cosgrove has been working as a professional singer, actor, voice teacher, and acting coach across the U.S. and Canada for over 20 years and received a BFA in Acting/Musical Theatre from Carnegie Mellon University. CCT’s Sandbox Series focuses on brief, easily digestible theatre for ages 0–8, the Spotlight Series is geared toward families and youth audiences and includes chances for young artists to perform, and the Professional Series features professional performers, designers, and technicians along with the most advanced students on stages around town. A patron described CCT’s production of Ragtime by saying, “I must say, this production was... inspiring to say the least. When half the cast is tearing up at the end and there’s a standing ovation at the end of act one? You know you are onto something. excellent job everyone. I hope everyone is deservedly proud!”
