Columbus Children’s Theatre Programs include brief, easily digestible theatre experiences and an adaptation of a beloved childhood story. The programs feature Theatre for the Very Young (TVY) productions that use sensory play and immersion.

Since 1963, Columbus Children’s Theatre (CCT) has been a cornerstone of youth arts education and performance in central Ohio. Its programs include the Sandbox Series, which focuses on brief, easily digestible theatre for ages 0–8, and Theatre for the Very Young productions with sensory play and immersion. Additional offerings include the Spotlight Series geared toward families and youth audiences, a Professional Series featuring professional performers, designers, and technicians as well as advanced students, sensory-friendly performances, touring programs, scenic design services, tuition assistance, subsidized tickets, and workforce development opportunities. CCT states a commitment to anti-racism, equity, and accessibility, and has a stated goal to build a permanent education center and accessible theatre in the heart of Columbus. CCT’s mission is to transform families through the power of the stage.
Featured Faculty Member Nick Cosgrove has been working as a professional singer, actor, voice teacher, and acting coach across the U.S. and Canada for over 20 years and received a BFA in Acting/Musical Theatre from Carnegie Mellon University. CCT serves more than 85,000 individuals annually through education, performance, and outreach in classrooms, rehearsal studios, libraries, community centers, and on stage, and offers outreach residencies and cross-sector partnerships. A patron responding to CCT’s production of Ragtime stated, “I must say, this production was... inspiring to say the least. When half the cast is tearing up at the end and there’s a standing ovation at the end of act one? You know you are onto something. excellent job everyone. I hope everyone is deservedly proud!”
