About
Columbus Children’s Theatre Youth Programs include the Sandbox Series, which focuses on brief, easily digestible theatre, and Theatre for the Very Young productions that use sensory play and immersion. The programs also include adaptations of beloved childhood stories, the Spotlight Series geared toward families and youth audiences, and a Professional Series featuring professional performers, designers, technicians, and advanced students. Columbus Children’s Theatre Youth Programs offer year-round theatre education, professional-level productions featuring youth and adult performers, sensory-friendly performances, touring programs, and scenic design services.

Since 1963, Columbus Children’s Theatre (CCT) has been a cornerstone of youth arts education and performance in central Ohio. CCT’s mission is to transform families through the power of the stage. CCT serves more than 85,000 individuals annually through education, performance, and outreach in classrooms, rehearsal studios, libraries, community centers, and on stage, and engages in cross-sector partnerships. The organization offers tuition assistance, subsidized tickets, outreach residencies, workforce development opportunities, and maintains a stated commitment to anti-racism, equity, and accessibility, along with a strategic vision to build a permanent education center and accessible theatre in the heart of Columbus. Featured faculty member Nick Cosgrove has been working as a professional singer, actor, voice teacher, and acting coach across the U.S. and Canada for over 20 years and received his BFA in Acting/Musical Theatre from Carnegie Mellon University. A patron described CCT’s production of Ragtime as “inspiring,” noting a standing ovation at the end of act one and sharing that “half the cast is tearing up at the end.”
