Franklin Park Conservatory Youth & Family Educational Programs take place within a larger setting that includes botanical biomes, lush gardens, special horticulture and art exhibitions, and seasonal offerings. The programs are part of a full menu of classes, workshops and camps that focus on gardening, cooking, fine art and wellness. Families attending these programs can also encounter exhibitions that have included Paul Busse Garden Railway, Orchids, Blooms & Butterflies, Harvest Blooms, Pumpkins Aglow, Holiday Blooms and Conservatory Aglow, and can see a collection of glass works by artist Dale Chihuly that is on display and included with admission.

Franklin Park Conservatory Youth & Family Educational Programs are part of Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, which has been open to the Columbus community in its current form since 1993, with the Palm House and Showhouse open across three centuries. The institution’s mission is: “As a premier botanical garden destination, we connect people to nature and create life-enhancing experiences.” Leadership for the broader organization includes President & CEO Bruce Harkey and a team that includes the Director of Community Outreach and Education, Jenny Pope, along with leaders in horticulture and exhibitions, marketing and communications, visitor experience, philanthropy, planning, event sales and facilities, human resources and finance. Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2025 honor by Columbus Top Workplaces and maintains a historical link to the community as part of an 88-acre City of Columbus park that was the site of the first Franklin County Fair and Ohio State Fair.
