About
JCC of Greater Columbus Youth Recreation Programs take place within the broader offerings of the Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus, which provides state-of-the-art facilities and programs in an inclusive environment defined by Jewish values and culture. Youth programs connect to spaces such as the Zusman Center, which is used primarily for the JCC’s Summer Camp and JClub After-School programs and includes a multi-purpose room, changing and restrooms, a nurse’s office, and an art room. During the summer, children can also use the Sprayground, a water playground with spray jets and fountains for cooling off, and in the future will have access to the Sam Baker Aquatics Complex, which will feature a zero depth entry pool and water slides.
The Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus has served Columbus’ Jewish community since 1913 and has expanded its facilities and programs over time, including major construction and renovation projects in 1983 and 2012. The organization launched the “Our J. Our Future.” capital campaign in June 2024, which includes projects such as the Andrew Ethan Stern Pickleball Complex and the Sam Baker Aquatics Complex. The JCC also created Virtual J in March 2020 to offer virtual programming, workouts, events and enjoyment for members of all ages during COVID-19 building closures, and implemented Traction Rec CRM software in December 2021 to streamline access to registrations, scheduling, purchases, and account information. The JCC’s mission is to offer a varied program that is Jewish in nature, promote physical, intellectual and spiritual wellness, provide educational and cultural programs that reflect Jewish heritage, and pursue the strengthening of the individual, family and community. JCC of Greater Columbus is a community partner of JewishColumbus and reports more than 6,500 members representing about 3,800 households in Central Ohio. Charity Navigator has awarded the organization four out of four stars.
