Columbus School for Girls was established in 1898, was incorporated as a nonprofit institution in 1927, and moved to its current location at 65 S. Drexel Ave. in 1953. CSG is the only all-girl, Pre K–12 private school in central Ohio, and CSG students compete in 10 different sports. CSG reports that 41% of Upper School faculty have earned a doctoral degree, 100% of graduates are admitted to and enroll in a 4-year degree program, and 98% are accepted into one of their top-three schools. The school states that its students come from 51 zip codes and a variety of socio-economic backgrounds, representing all five major religions, and that it is a member of the OHSAA and the Central Buckeye League.

The CSG mission states that since its inception, the school has worked to empower girls to discover their distinct potential as learners and leaders, celebrates diversity, and is committed to becoming a more equitable and inclusive community where all members feel safe, connected, and respected. The mission further states that CSG sees a moral responsibility to create an anti-racist environment that confronts all forms of bias and aims to ensure that every member of the community experiences a deep sense of belonging. Inspirit AI at CSG is taught by Stanford and MIT graduates in AI who are present in person to teach, and the listed program contact for Inspirit AI is Jared Greene at [email protected].

Testimonials from CSG students and alumnae describe personal experiences, including a CSG alumna who says she feels a spark of connection when she meets another CSG graduate and calls it a sisterhood, and a Form X student who says she is grateful for teachers, classes, opportunities, and friendships. A Form IX student describes a CSG girl as having a challenging curriculum, sports, volunteering, and clubs, and another Form IX student says teachers bring students into the conversation and that they can have fun and learn at the same time. A Form XII student says she has found a strong sense of belonging in her first year at CSG and calls it a place where she can be herself and grow without limits, and an alumna from the Class of 1997 says that being a Unicorn means the world to her and that CSG gave her the ability to seek truth and the know-how to affect change.
