Black Swamp Area Council Scouting Programs include Scouts BSA Summer Camp at Camp Berry and Camp Lakota, as well as Cub Scout Camping and Adventure Camp. The programs also offer a Polar Bear Award, a National Jamboree 2026-related program, and events such as Dragons Scout Night, Fall Family Fun Day, the Meecheway 5k, and Camp Lakota Cub Week 2026 called “See Science Go.” Members of the community are welcome to attend Camp Lakota for the “See Science Go” camp.

Black Swamp Area Council Scouting Programs operate multiple districts, including Arrowwood District, Chinquapin District, Great Oaks District, Old Sycamore District, and Exploring. The council provides training programs such as Adult Leader Training, Youth Leader Training, Safeguarding Youth Training, Shooting Sports Training, and Wood Badge, and also offers facility rentals at Camp Berry and Camp Lakota. The council runs fundraising product sales including a Popcorn Sale and a Coffee & Tea Sale, operates Scout Shops and Service Centers in Findlay and Lima, and offers a Military family fee waiver. It also operates a Packaged Gift Program to strengthen community impact and plans a new, simpler renewal cycle for all members by February 2028 with a single common renewal month of February.
The leadership team includes advancement contacts Sharon Brubeck for Arrowwood (Hancock & Seneca Counties), Daryl Neff for Chinquapin (Defiance, Henry, Fulton, Paulding & Williams), Dennis Lamb for Great Oaks (Allen & Hardin Counties), Gary Meyer for Great Oaks (Putnam County), Greg Amstutz for Old Sycamore (Van Wert County), Stephen Ritchie for Old Sycamore (Mercer & Auglaize Counties), and Wayne Dukes as Council Advancement Chair. Community involvement includes the 27th Annual Scouting Golf Classic fundraiser to support local Scouting, as well as events such as Sporting Clays for Scouting and the Lima Golf Outing, and a partnership with the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Catholic Committee on Scouting.
