About

The South-Western City School District Preschool Program includes center-based preschool classrooms, Head Start inclusion classrooms, and itinerant services. Center-based preschool programs are designed to provide early intervention for children who are identified as special needs and for preschoolers who are typically developing as peer models. Assessments, home visits, training, and a variety of other activities are scheduled on various days as part of the program.

• Ages: 3–5 years old
• Schedule: Classes meet Monday through Thursday, following the South-Western City School District calendar.

The South-Western City School District Preschool Program lists Dawn Brewer as Special Services Coordinator, Amanda Willing as Preschool Center Secretary for Special Education, and Kim Williams as Preschool Center Secretary for Peer Model. The program states that language assistance is provided free of charge for persons with Limited English Proficiency (LEP). The district’s policy states that South-Western City Schools will take reasonable steps so that persons with Limited English Proficiency have meaningful access and an equal opportunity to participate in services, activities, and programs throughout the district, and to ensure meaningful communication with LEP students and families about information related to the education of all students. There is a peer model waitlist for the 2026–2027 school year, and students are placed in available spots based on the order of submission to the waitlist, with all waitlist submissions dated and timestamped. Current preschool families in this program do not need to re-enroll their child for kindergarten.
