Creative Playrooms Montessori and Child Care Centers offers activities such as swimming lessons, art projects like Wheel Painting and Snow Drip, and science projects like Melting Snow, Water Colors, and Snowflake Patterns. Children take part in cooking activities such as Graham Cracker Cars, Stop Light, What is a Snowflake?, Tea Test, and Un-Birthday Cakes, as well as games like Card Houses, Through the Looking Glass, and Un-Birthday Party Games. The program also includes language arts activities such as Letter Review, Letters P, Q, R, and S, counting, matching the mittens, and beginning rhyming, along with music and movement activities like Yoga, Winter Pokey, and Frosty Celebration.

Infant activities include themes such as Cold, Snow, and Bubbles, with sensory experiences like Mirror Play, Pudding Fun, Puppets, and exploring hard, soft, and fuzzy items. Infants also engage in gross motor play such as Kick the Ball, Crawling, Stacking Blocks, Bowling, and Rolling the Ball, and fine motor activities such as Puzzles, Cheerio Pick-Up, Color the Circle, and Tissue Toss. Audio and visual activities for infants include Beat the Drum, Body Awareness, Clapping, and Animal Sounds.

Senior toddler and preschool themes include Snowflakes/Icicles, Wheeling About, and Once Upon a Time, with related art projects such as Castle in the Sky and Snow Drip. Practical activities for these ages include Mechanic, Princesses, Snowplower, and Set the Table, along with manipulatives such as Connectors, Building Towers, and Lincoln Logs. Pre-K themes include Brr! It’s Cold, In a People House, At the Zoo, Big Top, and Special Day Celebrations, with art projects such as At the Big Top, Animal Dotter, My Family, Snow Paint, and Snowman Decorations, and science activities like Animal Cookies, Popcorn Balls, Melting Snow, and Sink & Float.

Before and after school Social Corner themes include Alice in Wonderland – Disney, with Backyard Science activities such as Snow Melt, Magic Stones, Rabbit Hole Hunt, and Lunar Celebration. Children in these groups also participate in art projects like Cat Print Painting, Clay Tea Cups, Party Hats, and Tye-Dye Paint.

Creative Playrooms Montessori and Child Care Centers has been a part of the greater Cleveland community for over 50 years and is an award-winning child care provider whose centers participate in Step Up To Quality, Ohio’s rating and improvement system. Programs are available for infants through elementary, and parents have a choice of traditional preschool or a true Montessori preschool program, with a play-based, Montessori, and Reggio Emilia approach to learning. The centers offer unique combinations of Montessori and traditional programming, a diverse set of materials, activities, and experiences, and a schedule that allows large blocks of time to problem-solve and create new ideas, with an atmosphere that encourages social interaction for cooperative learning and emotional development.

The teachers are credentialed in the Montessori philosophy and are chosen for their experience and training in early childhood education and child development. As a fully licensed childcare center, all teachers are trained in First-Aid and CPR and have undergone state background checks, and staff participate in regular emergency preparedness training and drills. Security features include secure sign-in/out technology with real-time attendance information, the Smartcare childcare system for immediate parent notification of urgent situations, and entrances that are monitored by staff or cameras and require passcodes or QR codes for entry.

Most locations provide hot meals and snacks, offer on-site swimming pools with lifeguards, and have cafeteria-like lunch rooms and expansive outdoor play spaces, with cafeteria-style lunch rooms not offered at the Independence location. The Independence location serves children from 6 weeks up to 12 years and offers Infants, Toddlers, Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, and School Age programs, and does not provide transportation. Creative Playrooms is part of the Early Learning Academies family, a network of early childhood learning centers led by childcare professionals, and states that a partnership is developed with the family.
