S.T.A.R. Summer Camp

S.T.A.R. Summer Camp includes direct instruction in social skills, math and reading intervention for preschool and ages 6–12, and adapted P.E. movement activities. The program also offers an integrated camp experience for individuals with disabilities and typical peers, with typical peers trained in disabilities serving as role models.

• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Schedule: Sessions run July 6–17, 2026 for ages 3–5 and 6–12, and July 6–24, 2026 for ages 13 and older, with half-day and longer-day options.
• Price: Camp costs $375 per week; $100 for completion of ESY documentation and reports; $100 for typical peers ages 3–12; additional costs may apply if individual assistance is needed.

S.T.A.R. Summer Camp is an award winning camp staffed by intervention specialists, movement specialists, and interns. Camp directors are Jim Wotowiec for ages 13 and older and Lori Wotowiec for preschool and ages 6–12. The mission of the camp is to provide an integrated camp experience for individuals with disabilities and typical peers that creates an environment that promotes educational reinforcement, physical activity, social skills, cooperative group learning and will facilitate access, equity and inclusion. The camp meets the requirements of Extended School Year (ESY) services, and ESY participants must provide an updated IEP indicating ESY services, goals, and objectives, with data collected for ESY services and reported to parents and the school district. Low teacher-camper ratios allow each participant to be immersed in quality individual programming, and week 3 for age 16 and older focuses on independent living, community participation opportunities, and links to adult services. An IEP, BIP, and 504 plan are required with registration if applicable, and last year the camp had over 270 participants.
