Davis Family YMCA Day Camp offers a full day of activities that include swimming, crafts, gym games, cooking classes, excursions, art projects, and theater. Campers take part in outdoor adventures, skill-building, and activities throughout the day and return home each evening.
• Ages: 6–13 years old
• Schedule: Operates from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with optional early drop-off from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM and late pick-up from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM for an additional fee; regular registration ends at the scheduled closing time of the applicable YMCA branch on the Friday before the camp week.
• Price: Enrollment fee of $40 per child (non-refundable); weekly camp fee of $185 for members and $225 for non-members; extended hours available for $25 per camper per week; a $20 late fee per camper applies if registration is not completed by the Friday before each week; additional camper T-shirts are $20.
The camp is led by enthusiastic and experienced staff, with leadership provided by Christine Flasher, Youth/Teen & Sports Director. Campers receive one shirt included in the enrollment fee, and this shirt is mandatory and must be worn on each excursion Thursday, which is field trip day. All parents must attend a mandatory day camp orientation and may bring campers to meet the team and take a tour of the facility. The Davis Family YMCA states its mission as putting Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all and notes a commitment to strengthening the foundations of the community. The YMCA of Youngstown holds Praesidium Accreditation, which publicly demonstrates that it has achieved specific industry standards in abuse prevention. A Counselor In Training (CIT) Program is offered and is described as a “CIT ACA Accredited Program.”
