About

Youth Swim Lessons at Albany Community Pool offers youth lessons based on the American Red Cross progression. The program takes place in a 50-meter, Olympic-size community pool that is open year-round. Youth can also take part in Rec Swim and Youth Lap Swim times in addition to their lessons.

• Ages: 3–17 years old
• Schedule: Youth Lessons are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays with 30-minute class options between 6:00–7:40pm; additional Rec Swim and Lap Swim times are available on multiple days each week.
• Price: Adult, senior, and youth Lap and Rec Swim are available with single-visit and monthly pass options; monthly passes work at both Albany Community Pool and Cool Pool and include fitness classes, lap swims, and open/recreation swims.

The program follows the American Red Cross progression with Pre-School Levels 1–4 for ages 3, 4, and 5, and Levels 1–6 for ages 6 and up. The organization’s mission is to promote healthy living through recreational experiences and to serve as stewards of Albany’s public parks and facilities. Adults are required for all household groups and must be in the water with household members under age 16 and within reach of a child wearing a flotation device, and all lifejackets used must be Coast Guard approved.
