About
RecTennis offers tennis camps where participants play fun games, take part in team-based activities, and do movement exercises on the court. The program also includes Teen Tennis, Adult Red Ball, Adult Tennis 101, Adult Tennis 201, and a Tennis Afterschool Zone that uses age-appropriate, modified equipment and does not require courts. All equipment is provided for RecTennis programs, including Teen Tennis and Tennis Afterschool Zone.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Adult Red Ball is a 60-minute coach-facilitated session.
RecTennis instructors focus on basic techniques, movement, and gameplay. Teen Tennis is offered through partnerships with local schools and community centers for middle and high school students in grades 6–12, and all equipment is provided for Teen Tennis. Tennis Afterschool Zone is designed for kids in grades K–6 at select schools across the Pacific Northwest and combines fun games, teamwork, and skill-building activities to teach tennis fundamentals, sportsmanship, and leadership. Adult Red Ball is a fast-paced social tennis experience for adults of all levels on smaller courts, and Adult Tennis 101 and 201 are summer programs at select outdoor parks that introduce tennis fundamentals in a fun, supportive, no-pressure environment. RecTennis is part of United States Tennis Association Pacific Northwest (USTA PNW), which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that reinvests all proceeds into programs and scholarships to make tennis accessible for all, with scholarships available to individuals or families. The program follows a mission that describes tennis as a vehicle that can transform lives, promote life-long fitness and wellness, instill leadership and sportsmanship, teach teamwork and life skills, and build stronger families and healthier communities, with a vision to make tennis accessible to everyone and to grow tennis to inspire healthier people and communities everywhere.
