Cascades Theatrical Company Youth & Community Theatre Programs involve live theater, film arts, music, dance, and storytelling. The programs take place within a theatre that is described as a local stage for local talent.
Founded in 1978, Cascades Theatrical Company is the oldest community theatre in Central Oregon. Its mission is to enrich the Central Oregon community experience by bringing live theater, film arts, music, dance, and storytelling to its stage, and to connect community by creating equal opportunity for all who want to participate in the education, collaboration, performance, and production of the performing arts. It is described as a theatre for all and a membership organization. Cascades Theatrical Company is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. It is the only volunteer-based community theatre in Central Oregon, and all aspects of productions, on and offstage, are created by volunteers. Leadership for one production, “Spreading Joy,” includes co-directors Richard Choate and Whitney Garner.
