The Yamhill Carlton Soccer Club lists YCSC Program Director Karen Wright, Coach Karen, Coach Jon Briggs, Coach TJ Kostecky, and Coaches Jon and Mick as part of its leadership and coaching team. The club states that it believes every child should have the opportunity to play soccer and be an important part of their community, with a goal of bringing locally accessible training, encouraging mentorship, and emphasizing community spirit in all players. The mission includes helping club members be the best community members they can be, inviting them to volunteer, earn the Presidential Service Award, and “Build Community Through the Love of the Game.”
The non-profit YC Soccer Club is a sponsored project of Yamhill Carlton Together Cares (YCTC) and participates in the YCSC in Mac Parks and Rec League. The club runs a year-round “Deposit Return” Bottle and Can Drive for the YCSC Scholarship Program, and states that this Scholarship Program is used so every child who wants to play soccer can afford to and to provide equipment for many free programs. The club reports that its programs touch the lives of 700+ people annually from toddlers to seniors, including special needs and emerging athletes and seasoned players, and that it sponsors over 700 hours annually of free programming. It also states that it provides its facility at no cost to families and encourages parents and players to get involved, with youth mentorship opportunities happening year round that can count toward the Presidential Volunteer Service Award.
The YC Soccer Club describes itself as an all-volunteer program that offers free training to all volunteer coaches, coaches, and soccer parents, and encourages and trains youth mentors from elementary through high school. The club reports that every child has the opportunity to give back to their community through its programming. In 2024, the club reports providing 1002 programming hours, 782 of which were free, serving over 500 youth and family members in fully inclusive and integrative programming from toddler through adult, including players with special needs, and documenting over 10,500 hours of volunteerism. It also states that it kept its annual club membership at $15 and that free programming is available year-round covered by this membership.
Yamhill Carlton Soccer Club states that it is Oregon’s first certified club with Vision Training Soccer and the only certified “Vision Training Club” in Oregon, and that vision training is the backbone of all club training. The club teaches individual vision to all age levels so players can grow to own their game and play with creativity and speed in the flow, and every player needs Vision Training to qualify for team league play. The club notes that its members enjoy free camps and tournaments, that it encourages mixed age and skill play, and that it is fully inclusive and provides opportunities for all ages, genders, and skill levels to play in a fun community atmosphere. The club also reports multiple opportunities to train with visiting coaches from around the world and highlights a Juggling Champions leaderboard, with Luke Corrigan holding the club record of 221.
For equipment, the club specifies running or soft-soled shoes only in the YCSC Arena and no cleats in the Arena.
