About

Nelson Junior Baseball offers T-Ball, Rookie, Minors, Juniors, and Seniors baseball programs, along with pre-season training, Fall Ball, camps, the Hawks Winter Warm-Up Camp, JBO level assessments for grades 3–8, Rookie assessments, and Federal call backs. Players at JBO levels learn skills and tactics consistent with high school rules, including base runners leading off, pitchers throwing from the stretch, and at most levels a live “dropped third strike.” Field size is adjusted for three age levels, and lesser skill and age levels play with a per-inning run limit.

Registration fees have increased to include a fundraising opt out, and if a family meets a net profit of $50 or more from fundraising, they receive a $50 credit for the next year’s registration. If the player is an 8th grader and meets a net profit of $50 or more, the family can choose a $50 monetary refund or donate the $50 to the High School Booster Club.

Nelson JBO states that it is proud to be a part of the community. Its mission statement says it focuses on teamwork, discipline, fair play, learning that failure does not define the player, and that success does not last forever, and that the Board, Coaches, and Parents want youth to develop these skills and friendships that last a lifetime.
