About
Pacific School of Dance offers dance instruction supported by a staff with extensive training and performance backgrounds. The facility also includes a Dancewear Shop that families can access by appointment.

Pacific School of Dance is a Community Impact Program of the Boys and Girls Club of Southwest Oregon. The program’s vision is to provide the best possible training in a professional atmosphere, whether or not a dance career is planned, and to use outreach and performances to educate the public, particularly school-age students, in the etiquette and benefits of watching and participating in artistic presentations as they apply to dance. The 2025/2026 Parent Handbook is a detailed guide to policies and information for the current season at Pacific School of Dance.
Artistic Director Lindsay Gumaskas has dual Associate of Arts degrees in transfer studies and in Fine and Applied Arts, has won numerous awards as a competitive dancer in many styles, has performed in London with Varsity Spirit, danced in the XXXVII Super Bowl Halftime Show, and has taught and choreographed in styles including pre-school dance, adult tap, hip hop, jazz, tap, and lyrical. Administrative Director Pamela Chaney co-founded and taught at Pacific Dance Spectrum from 1989–1995, has taught at Southwestern Oregon Community College, has studied and taught tap since 1990, and is an ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor certified in Power Pilates Beginning and Intermediate Mat. Instructor Marcie Lakey is an AFAA Certified Fitness Instructor, has taught at Cross Court Athletic Club in Woodland, California, and has performed with Extraordinary Students of America in New York and Europe and at the Tremaine Dance Competition in Las Vegas. Instructor Maria Rosman earned a BFA in dance in 1996 and attended a dance teachers’ workshop with The Pennsylvania Youth Ballet in the summers of 2017, 2019, and 2021. Instructor Christine Rader attended the Pacific Northwest Ballet Summer Intensive Program on scholarship for two consecutive years, received the four-year Willam F. Christensen Scholarship to the University of Utah Department of Ballet where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, danced with Ballet West for three seasons from 1984–1986, attended the Ballet Teacher’s Workshop at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet in 2017, 2019, and 2022, and is certified in teaching Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT). Instructor Celena Dawson graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts in Dance and in 2017 received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Cornish.
