Tennis & Pickleball includes tennis and pickleball sessions, group tennis classes, and private tennis lessons. The program offers Hot Shots tennis class, Team Tennis (Intense Youth/Teen Group), Adult Tennis, and Adult Pickleball. Classes are structured to introduce age appropriate tennis skills grounded in 21st century, industry-based standards, with courses available for all skill levels from recreation beginner to the competitive high school player.

• Schedule: Hot Shots and Team Tennis run in four-week sessions, with additional Adult Tennis and Pickleball session options on weekdays
• Price: Hot Shots: $100 / 4 Weeks; Team Tennis: $150 / 4 Weeks; Adult Tennis: $12 per person each session or $100 for 10 visit punch card; Pickleball: $8 per person each session, $70 for 10 visit punch card, or $100 for 20 visit punch card

The Boys & Girls Club of Southwestern Oregon's William J. Sweet Memorial Tennis Center provides a full curriculum of tennis programming designed to meet the needs of all junior players. Hot Shots meets Monday and Wednesday from 5:30–6:30pm and focuses on introducing tennis skills to new players in a relaxed setting where all skill levels participate, with rallying taught and improved through fun games and drills. Team Tennis (Intense Youth/Teen Group) meets Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30–6:30pm and includes advanced drills, strategies, and matches, emphasizing increasing speed as well as improving shot selection and strategy. Adult Tennis and Pickleball sessions are offered Monday–Thursday from 9:00–11:30am and 6:30–8:30pm, and private tennis lessons are available.

The program’s tennis instructor, Kylee Woodman, has years of tennis playing experience, competed at #1 singles all four years for North Bend High School, and played for Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. She has taught players of all ages, from beginner to advanced. The leadership team includes Denise Gould (Chief Professional Officer), Pam Chaney (Pacific School of Dance), Cheryl Strope (Bookkeeper), Rob Miles (Resource Development), Jay Link (Program Director), Reyna Medina (Sports Director), Roy Lans (Gymnastics Plus), and Kylee Woodman (tennis instructor).

The organization’s mission is dedicated to assisting all youth to achieve their fullest potential by enhancing their self-esteem, providing positive role models, and by helping them develop the qualities needed to become caring, productive, responsible citizens. Its GREAT FUTURES vision is to provide an after school Club experience that assures success is within reach for every young person who enters its doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, demonstrating good character and citizenship, and living a healthy lifestyle.
