South Lane Youth Football & Cheer offers youth football and cheer opportunities through the South Lane Youth Football Association. At every level, the program focuses on developing well-rounded young men and women who learn the fundamentals of football in an atmosphere that supports sound mind, body, and character, while making the game fun for all boys and girls. The program operates within the Willamette Valley Youth Football & Cheer community and includes Cottage Grove 6–8th grade tackle football.

The stated mission of South Lane Youth Football & Cheer is, “Our mission is to help the youth of today become the confident adults of tomorrow.” The general objectives of South Lane Youth Football are to inspire youth, regardless of race, creed, or national origin, to practice the ideals of sportsmanship, scholarship, and physical fitness. The program stresses learning lessons such as self-discipline, teamwork, concentration, friendship, leadership, and good sportsmanship. By providing an organized, supervised environment with emphasis on maximum safety and participation, South Lane Youth Football & Cheer offers young men and women a specific experience centered on football and cheer. The South Lane Youth Football Association focuses on safety, professionalism, courtesy, sportsmanship, academics, integrity, caring, effort, skill development, teamwork, leadership, providing opportunities for success, consistency, respect, coaching professionalism and development, and community pride.
