Crux Rock Gym Youth Climbing Programs

Crux Rock Gym Youth Climbing Programs include indoor rock climbing through youth climbing classes that cover beginning and intermediate rock climbing skills. Participants use bouldering areas such as the bouldering cave and walls, the spray wall, auto belays, top rope climbing, and lead climbing. The programs take place in a facility that also offers a fitness gym, personal training, changing rooms, showers, outdoor grading, a lead ceiling, and route instruction for all levels.

• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Winter Trimester from December 1st to February 27th, with additional climbing times available during regular open hours
• Price: Friday Night Happy Hour offers climbing for half-price, and there are no member re-initiation fees until January 1st

Crux Rock Gym Youth Climbing Programs take place at an indoor rock climbing gym that has been serving the Eugene community since 1994. The gym offers a progressive youth climbing class that teaches beginning and intermediate skills, and kids partner up with peers to practice. The gym also offers lessons and clinics for all ages, kids’ classes, and special nights for women and students. Beginner’s Night runs every Monday from 6 pm to 8 pm with free gear rentals all night, and Friday Night Happy Hour runs every Friday from 6 pm to 10 pm with half-price climbing. The mission of Crux Rock Gym is to foster a healthy inclusive space for climbing and making friends where people of all ages and backgrounds can get in touch with their adventurous side. Crux Rock Gym was founded by Ron Vickrey, and ownership transferred in 2018 to Morgan and Marra Watson, and it operates as a family-owned climbing gym. Regular hours are Monday through Friday from 10 am to 10 pm, Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm, and Sunday from 12 pm to 6 pm, with members-only hours Monday through Friday from 6 am to 10 am.
