The Shedd Community Music School offers classes, vacation camps, private lessons, performances, and workshops in a wide range of musical instruments and styles. The program offers first-rate instruction to students of all ages, and private lessons can begin at any time. Families can also use a Shedd Institute Gift Certificate to access the school’s music offerings in different ways.
• Schedule: Ticket Office hours Monday–Friday 9am–6pm, Saturday 9am–2pm
By agreement between The Shedd and Lane County, Shedd patrons can park free Monday–Friday from 5pm–7am and all day Saturday and Sunday in the Pearl Street Parking Lot directly north of The Shedd across 8th Ave. One unique feature is a North Entrance that makes it possible to get to the ticket office and music school receptionist without using stairs. A testimonial from The Boston Herald notes that “The musical chemistry between Scottish fiddle legend Alasdair Fraser and young cello ace Natalie Haas is a rare, felicitous thing.”
