The Shedd Institute Community Music School

The Shedd Institute Community Music School offers classes, vacation camps, and private lessons in a wide range of musical instruments and styles. Private lessons at The Shedd Institute Community Music School can begin at any time during the year. The program runs during Summer Term 2026.

The Shedd Institute is a non-profit corporation and requests support through philanthropy and gifts to The Shedd Institute. Loop Oregon’s Sound Advice meets every 2nd Saturday at the institute to show people how to use a hearing loop and how to make hearing aids or cochlear implants work better to access live music and speech. The institute has an agreement with Lane County that provides expanded free parking for Shedd patrons in the Pearl Street Parking Lot Monday–Friday from 5 pm to 7 am and all day Saturday and Sunday. The NE Quadrant North Entrance is designed to allow access to the ticket office and music school receptionist without using stairs.
