Hood River Valley Parks and Recreation District Youth Programs include swim lessons, water polo, swim team, water aerobics, lap swimming, open family swim, and use of a pool party room. The programs also include sports leagues, art classes, summer camps, outdoor activities, disc golf, and use of a skate park.

• Schedule: Fall schedule runs September 1–December 1, with building hours Monday–Friday 10:00am–7:00pm and Saturday–Sunday 9:00am–5:00pm; lap swimming is offered 1:30–3:00pm on weekdays and open family swim is offered 12:00–5:00pm on weekends.

Hood River Valley Parks + Recreation District has been serving the Hood River community since 1988. The mission of the Hood River Valley Parks + Recreation District is to provide recreational opportunities to the citizens of the Park District, with focus on the youth of the community, and to develop and maintain facilities and programs that offer safe and economical recreational environments for all users. The District serves more than 20,000 people in the Hood River area and notes that it is not the only provider of parks and recreation in Hood River County, alongside the City of Hood River, Hood River County, Port of Hood River, and Hood River County School District. The District states a focus on youth, seniors, and Latinxs, and notes that its pool has connected people in the community since 1988. The District has received a grant from the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department to purchase 4.1 acres of Parkdale Park. The leadership team includes Director Mark Hickok, Assistant Director Marcie Wily, Admin Assistant Kelsey Barnes, Aquatic Center Supervisor Ally Kriskewic, Assistant Supervisor (Aquatics) Kenna Harris, Recreation Supervisor Jaime Rivera, Assistant Supervisor (Sports + Recreation) Gio Mangaña-Rivera, Program Coordinator Kennedy Breithaupt, and Maintenance Supervisor Anthony Johnston, and the District has a five-member Board of Directors elected by citizens of the District.
