About
Eastern Oregon Basketball Camps focuses on basketball position and skill work, including ball handling, full court transition, post and guard stations, shooting stations, offensive attack moves, defensive positioning, and court awareness. Campers take part in goal setting, mental toughness, confidence under pressure, skill mastery, enthusiasm, and self-discipline sessions, along with 3v3 and 5v5 games, inbound plays, games and tournaments, and a 5 man motion offense. The program also includes Intensity Night, an Evening Program and Leadership Groups, and a Night Basketball Event.

• Schedule: Complete Player Basketball Camp runs June 22–25 with overnight and extended day options; extended day runs from 12:30 pm–9:00 pm on the first day, 9:00 am–9:00 pm on middle days, and 9:00 am–4:00 pm on the last day
NBC Camps states that it focuses on training the total athlete and uses the motto “better players, better people,” emphasizing gratitude, confidence, goals, self-discipline, mental toughness, building stronger families and friendships, and developing a strong personal faith. The program offers 6–10 hours per day of on-court instruction, games, tournaments, and basketball events, with campers grouped by age, skill, and experience and an approximate 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio. Eastern Oregon Basketball Camps are part of NBC Camps, which has been running basketball camps in La Grande, Oregon at EOU for over 40 years and is celebrating 55 years of camp excellence, with Travel Team Director Breanna Lyons listed in the leadership team.
NBC Camps states that it combines Christian values with proven coaching techniques and that NBC stands for “Nothing Beats Commitment.” The camp includes an Intensity Night event involving sweat, music, encouragement, and confidence building, as well as an Evening Program and Leadership Groups. The Golden Ruler Award is described as the highest achievement at NBC Camps and is connected to teaching campers to become a person of depth and reflection while highlighting community service, discipline, and accountability, and it is available for campers ages 13–18. NBC also offers an International Travel Teams program for athletes ages 14–18.
Campers are asked to bring their own athletic equipment, at least one pair of well-broken-in basketball shoes, and a clearly labeled basketball, and they may bring a fan. NBC Camps is not responsible for lost or stolen items. A Camp Store and camp bank are available at some locations, and parents can place money in the camp bank for purchases and retrieve any unspent money on the last day. Boys and girls are housed in separate dorms or on different floors, with coaches of the same gender staying in the dorms for supervision, and transportation to and from camp is the responsibility of the campers and their families.
