About
OCCA Visual Arts Camps offers visual art day camps for youth. The camps are part of a broader visual arts program that includes gallery spaces, a showcase space, classrooms and meeting rooms, a community kitchen, and a ceramics kiln studio. OCCA offers these visual art day camps for youth each summer.
OCCA Visual Arts Camps is run by the Oregon Coast Council for the Arts, a non-profit organization developing, promoting, supporting, and celebrating community arts. Oregon Coast Council for the Arts is the local arts council for Lincoln County and the regional arts council for Clatsop, Tillamook, Lincoln, Coos and Curry counties and coastal towns in Lane and Douglas counties. Oregon Coast Council for the Arts manages the Newport Performing Arts Center and the Newport Visual Arts Center, and the Visual Arts Center presents free-to-the-public rotating art exhibits. The Oregon Coast Art Bus, managed by Oregon Coast Council for the Arts, is a mobile arts classroom bringing arts education, engaging opportunities, and creative experiences to coastal communities, especially those with limited access to art experiences or transportation, and it is wrapped in the “Celebrate Oregon!” artwork created by Liza Burns and developed by Oregon Cultural Trust.
