Childswork Learning Center

Childswork Learning Center offers preschool and early childhood programs for children ages 3 to 6. The program includes full-day care from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with some schedules from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. It also lists before-care, called A.M. Explorers, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. for $200 per month, and after-care, called P.M. Explorers, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for $200 per month.

About the provider

Childswork is a non-profit preschool and childcare center that has been operating since 1984. Its mission statement says it focuses on the development of the whole child with respect and compassion, and that children explore, take chances, make messes, and learn through play. The program also states that it supports joyful exploration, discovery, and constructivist, play-based learning, and that it has 501(c)(3) status.

Tours are available through tour forms and monthly newsletter updates. PFA eligibility requires being 3 or 4 years old on or before September 1 of the preschool year and having a parent or legal guardian living in Multnomah County. PFA slots are full-time (five days a week) and part-time enrollment is not an option under PFA policy. Private-pay families receive placement offers based on priority order. Before-care and after-care are included at the Cherry Blossom Campus for families awarded a PFA slot, but are an additional cost for all families including those awarded a PFA slot.
