Experiment PDX After School, No School & Summer Camps

Experiment PDX After School, No School & Summer Camps includes hands-on activities such as circuit building, exploring cells under the microscope, LEGO robotics, electro agents, kinetic sculptures, crafts, and experiments. The program takes place in a hands-on museum of science and art with an open crafting station and interactive science exhibits.

• Ages: 7–11 years old
• Schedule: Museum drop-in hours and hands-on museum access are available several days a week, including weekday and weekend options.
• Price: $40/hr for Science Buddy (discounts available for more than one child)

Experiment PDX includes the Science Buddy with Professor Molli Cule program, 21+ events with drinks available for purchase, children’s birthday parties with science and/or art themes, and event space for rent. It also offers classes, workshops, and lectures by local artists, intellectuals, and culturalists. Experiment PDX is described as a space for arts, science, curiosity, and creation, and its stated mission includes cultivating curiosity, creativity, and community. Experiment is described as being by Portland for Portland and features “all manner of nerdery.”

Experiment is the brain, heart, and soul child of Mad Scientist-turned-Entreprenerd, Molly Radany. Molly is a lifelong maker-artist, educator, and former research biologist, and she has called Portland home since 2007. One parent shared that their two daughters have been participating in the Science Buddy program and described Molly as having a massive amount of knowledge in many areas of science and being able to dive deep into anything the children are curious about, and said their children have learned a lot and that Molly has nurtured their enthusiasm for science and the world.
