Buckman Field, 426 NE 12th St., Portland, OR 97232
About
PCU Youth Summer Soccer Camps and Training Programs include small-sided and large-sided games, technical development activities, team building, a camp-wide tournament, and a campers vs. coaches game. Campers also take part in speed, agility, technical, tactical, position-specific, shooting, and passing training, along with indoor activities such as trivia and foosball. Day-Camps include Wacky Wednesday and Jersey Day cat-walks, and all camps offer indoor soccer-focused activities during free time.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Day-Camps, Skills Camps, Recreational Camps, an Advanced High School Camp, and a U15–U19 Summer Training Program offered in multiple 2026 sessions, with camps running Monday–Thursday in daytime or morning-only blocks and the training program meeting in 90-minute sessions twice weekly
• Price: $195–$400 depending on camp or program
Camps are coached by certified and licensed coaches, including PCU Licensed Competitive Coaches, PCU players and alumni, Licensed Head Coaches, Mentor Coaches, Eture FC staff, and a goalkeeper coach. The U15–U19 Summer Training Program is led by licensed coaches and does not require tryouts or a commitment to the full Annual Program. Camp Directors are Victoria Schmidt and Ashton Betts, and PCU’s Director of Coaching is Ashton Betts. Advanced Camp includes Eture FC coaches from Spain who help design and lead sessions.
Since 1983, Portland City United Soccer Club has worked with young athletes through soccer. PCU is a community-based nonprofit with a mission that includes mentorship opportunities, need-based financial aid, and field development initiatives to make soccer accessible to all. PCU’s tournaments, the PCU Summer Classic and the Rose City Classic, bring teams from across the Pacific Northwest to Portland. All PCU program participants receive a 15% discount on all non-uniform purchases at Tursi Soccer, including cleats, balls, and shinguards.
Families are asked to send players in weather-appropriate soccer attire with cleats or athletic shoes, shin guards, and socks, and players may bring a ball they do not mind sharing. Sun hats and sunscreen are encouraged, and lunch is not provided, so players bring a morning snack, a water bottle for refilling, and a sack lunch. Recommended ball sizes are size 3 for ages 6–8, size 4 for ages 9–11, and size 5 for ages 12 and up. Lost and found items are kept in PCU’s clubhouse, and there is no supervision before or after camp hours, so families arrange timely pickup, with an alternate pickup person designated at registration or check-in.
