Family Series Concerts features live orchestral music concerts with shorter programs, interactive elements, and kid-friendly themes. The 2025/26 season includes Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Missing Maestro, Dinosaurs!, and Ahoy! Melodies from the High Seas. The 2026/27 season includes Wild Symphony, The Mountain That Loved a Bird, and A Musical Journey Across the Galaxy, which is a 60-minute expedition where music from the Star Wars series meets celestial classical music in a supernova of sound.

Wild Symphony features Maestro Mouse introducing an ensemble of friendly critters with lessons to share, with the author’s soundtrack played as the story is narrated live on stage, creating a safari of sound. The Mountain That Loved a Bird is a heartwarming story of friendship and love performed with Caroline Shaw’s musical interpretation of the book live with narration. The orchestra is led by Jean Vollum Music Director David Danzmayr. The Oregon Symphony has roots going back to 1896 and the founding of the Portland Symphony. The Oregon Symphony’s Education and Community Engagement programs aim to create exceptional musical experiences that inspire, enrich, and educate a diverse audience, creating a healthier and more vibrant community through the transformative power of music.
