Over the years it has expanded with additions such as the SportsPlex in 2003 and a major renovation in 2005, and it celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2014. The Center’s leadership team includes Executive Director Steve Albert, Chief Financial Officer Beth Germain, Assistant Executive Director Jenny Robinett, Human Resource Director Miriam Stroud, Marketing + Creative Director Becky Ewer, and Development Events + Community Programs Manager Bess Butterworth.

The Center states that it is an inclusive and welcoming hub for a diverse community, fostering lifelong wellness and providing social and educational experiences grounded in Jewish values and culture. It is a beneficiary of the Jewish Federation of Greater Portland and describes itself as providing a gathering place for the local Jewish community while embracing people of all faiths. The Mittleman Jewish Community Center has been selected as the 2025 PDX Parent Winner for Favorite Family-Friendly Fitness and notes that it is open to everyone, has served people of all faiths and backgrounds since 1914, and uses Pillars of Behavior to guide staff conduct.
