The Multnomah Arts Center Dance Program is coordinated by Dance Coordinator Patrick Browne. MAC is a program of Portland Parks & Recreation, and MACA is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization that supports MAC. MAC’s stated goal is to provide high-quality instruction and participation in the performing and visual arts to all interested persons, regardless of age, race, religion, ethnic origin, financial means, or level of ability, and MACA’s mission is to advocate for equity and access to arts education. MACA supports artists through the Front & Center Galleries at MAC, where exhibiting artists from Oregon and southwest Washington are selected via a free annual Call for Art, retain 65% of any sales, and are paid for their work, including community artists and curators who help shape the exhibition calendar and related programming.
