• Ages: 5–17 years old
• Schedule: 60-minute coach-facilitated sessions
At RecTennis, the stated mission is to create a vibrant and inclusive community through the game of tennis. The program partners with local schools and community centers to bring Teen Tennis to middle and high school students in grades 6–12, and Tennis Afterschool Zone (TAZ) is designed for kids in grades K–6 and takes place in school gyms using age-appropriate, modified equipment. TAZ combines fun games, teamwork, and skill-building activities to develop tennis fundamentals while teaching sportsmanship and leadership. Teen Tennis is described as a fun, supportive space to play, progress, and connect with others who love the game. Adult Red Ball is described as a fun, fast-paced social tennis experience on smaller courts for adults of all levels, with coach-facilitated sessions that keep participants moving, rallying, rotating, and laughing, with no pressure and no equipment needed. Adult Tennis 101 and Adult Tennis 201 are summer programs at select outdoor parks that introduce tennis fundamentals in a fun, supportive, no-pressure environment, and all equipment is provided. The program states that scholarships are available to individuals or families to support access to play, and that all proceeds are reinvested into programs and scholarships. RecTennis Programs notes that experienced instructors lead the activities.
