About
Everybody Dance Project offers Spring Break camp days that include ballet, jazz, tumbling, hip hop, crafts, coloring, open play time, obstacle courses, games, rehearsal, and a dance party. Camp days include time for snack and lunch brought from home.
• Ages: 3–10 years old
• Schedule: Each Spring Break camp day runs from 8:45am to 1:30pm, with each day from March 23–27 offered as an à la carte option.
• Price: Each Spring Break camp day costs $65 per day.
Everybody Dance Project is focused on bringing quality dance training to young, beginning dancers through fun, engaging classes that promote socialization, coordination, and fundamental dance knowledge. Ballet, jazz, and tumbling combo camps offer a different theme each week, and each camp is structured to engage imagination while increasing cognitive motor skills, expressive play, and creating relationships through dance. Camp consists of classes in ballet, jazz, and tumbling fundamentals, as well as craft and open play time, and dancers learn a routine to perform on the last day of camp. Dancers bring their own snack and lunch, and Everybody Dance Project offers free trial classes. Camps are offered for dancers ages 3–8 and 5–10, and Everybody Dance Project wants to be a child’s first dance class and keeps it easy for parents and fun for kids. All camps will be held at the Genesis Project Church, and there is a new location in North Portland coming in fall 2024. The program uses the phrase “Dance Fun for Everyone!”
Everybody Dance Project is led by owner Kaitlyn Burch, who started a competition dance studio called The Independent Dance Project in 2011 and spent the next decade mentoring dancers looking to push their technique and dance competitively. The teaching staff includes Vanda, who has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon in Political Science with a minor in Ethnic Studies, has been working closely with children teaching the basics of dance for over 10 years, and coaches a middle school team in Oregon City. Kelly trained for 15 years at Medfield Dance Academy Studios as a company member and competitive dancer, graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2021 from Meredith College with a B.A. in Dance with a Concentration in Private Studio Teaching, and was the sole recipient of the Academic Excellence in Dance Award for 2021. Kelly was president of Meredith Dance Association during their senior year, was a member of Meredith Dance Theater and the Meredith Jazz and Tap Company for the tap portion of the company, taught at Academy for the Performing Arts in Apex, NC, moved to Oregon in summer 2022 to work at Elevate Dance Academy as an instructor and social media/recreational dance enrollment coordinator, and is a member of Congruency Dance Collective, a tap-fusion company. Jasmine Wolfe has 27 years of dance experience and 15 years of dance and gymnastics coaching experience, grew up focusing on jazz and competing for 4 years, completed an interdisciplinary dance major at Humboldt State University, danced with the grass roots company On 3 in Oakland, CA from 2014–2022, and works for the Multnomah Athletic Club teaching gymnastics and dance to children ages 18 months to 14 years. Sophie has been part of the teaching staff for Everybody Dance Project since 2018, trained at The Independent Dance Project for a decade before graduating high school and earning a college degree in Southern California, and has taught camps and combo classes.
