An East Side Exploration camp is based out of the East Side with pick up at Glenhaven Park for grades 2–5.

Camps are led by expert educators.

The program follows a holistic, student-directed approach in which learning unfolds from each student’s personal passions and interests in the natural world. Campers are invited to express themselves through art, poetry, skits, and conservation action, and are given chances to master skills and crafts that build competence and self-reliance in the outdoors. The program emphasizes teamwork, care, and respect for each other and the Earth, along with shared “big belly laughs.”

Bird Alliance of Oregon connects people to their passion for Oregon’s wildlife and wild places and promotes community science as a way to have fun, learn about the natural world, and make a difference for wildlife. The Backyard Habitat Certification Program involves more than 5,000 properties in the Metro Area that are restoring habitat one yard at a time, and volunteer opportunities include clearing trails at the sanctuary, submitting comments to urge local leaders to stand up for the environment, building a Backyard Habitat for native birds and pollinators, and attending Nature Night events. Sliding Scale discounts are intended for people with significant financial constraints, and families can choose a Standard or Pay It Forward Rate based on their financial situation.
