C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation hosts fishing and boating activities for children with special needs. The program also organizes dinner and auction fundraisers that feature exceptional food and inspiring stories. Events involve numerous volunteers and include an awards ceremony where children receive plaques.

Since 1991, C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation has hosted annual fishing and boating events across America to provide children with special needs a quality outdoor recreational experience. The foundation’s mission is “Enriching the Lives of Children with Special Needs through Fishing.” Events include artwork by C.A.S.T. for Kids participant Anna Rhone.

The leadership team includes Pete Rowe (Business Development); Todd Woods (Regional Director – California and Arizona); Melissa McCalmant (Western Operations Manager and NW/Rocky Mtn. West Regional Director); Jessica Behnken (Operations Manager – Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas); Amy Gable (Operations Manager); Tilly Davis (Regional Director – Arkansas and Oklahoma); Jeff Barnes (Eastern Regional Director); and Program Events Directors Jim Behnken and Rebecca Mabe.

Testimonials about the foundation include comments from celebrity supporters Roland Martin, Jimmy Houston, Hank Parker, and Trace Adkins. A parent from Folsom Lake shared that a favorite moment was when their child received a plaque at the awards ceremony. Program Events Directors Jim Behnken and Rebecca Mabe describe serving children with special needs and working with coordinators and communities across the nation as important parts of their roles with the foundation.
