About

Camp Kiwanilong offers activities such as swimming, fishing, boating with canoes, games, evening campfires, and other outdoor activity. Campers can hike on trails, including walking a two-mile path that leads to the beaches of the Pacific Ocean.

Camp Kiwanilong has been providing summer youth programs for decades. The camp’s name comes from “Kiwani,” referring to the Kiwanis service organization, and “Long,” referring to the body of water. From 1936 to 1975, Clatsop County leased the Camp Kiwanilong property to the Girl Scouts. The leadership team includes Amy Koch, who serves as Ranger. The mission statement explains that they crafted a name that represents their mission of community and nature. The facility is open for group rentals and includes Boyington Lodge with a commercial-grade kitchen and dining hall with a fireplace, serviceware for 100 plus platters, pots, pans and cooking utensils, a separate walk-in cooler and freezer, and an outdoor cooking area. Lodging facilities include fourteen cabins that accommodate 112 people and four rustic cabins with electricity that accommodate 22 people, along with shower and restroom facilities. Recreational features include Long Lake swimming and fishing areas, a boathouse stocked with canoes, paddles and life jackets, a large open field for games, programs and evening campfires, and the Shrager Shelter with a stage, electrical outlets, benches and a fire pit. Camp Kiwanilong is associated with the Kiwanis service organization through the “Kiwani” portion of its name, and the Astoria-Warrenton Area Chamber of Commerce represents nearly 600 businesses and organizations of every size and exists to be a catalyst for business success, a convener of leaders and ideas, and a champion for the community.
