About

Camp Kiwanilong offers activities such as swimming, fishing, canoeing, games, and evening campfires. Campers use facilities that include Long Lake swimming and fishing areas, a boathouse stocked with canoes, paddles, and life jackets, and a large open field for games, programs, and evening campfires. Campers are housed in fourteen cabins that accommodate 112 people and four rustic cabins with electricity that accommodate 22 people, with shower and restroom facilities available.

Camp Kiwanilong’s facilities include Boyington Lodge, a large log cabin structure with a commercial-grade kitchen and a dining hall with a fireplace, along with serviceware for 100, platters, pots, pans, cooking utensils, a separate walk-in cooler and freezer, and an outdoor cooking area. The Shrager Shelter provides a large sheltered concrete surface with a stage, electrical outlets, benches, and a fire pit. The name “Kiwanilong” combines “Kiwani” from the service organization and “Long” from the body of water, and the name represents the camp’s mission of community and nature. Before hosting its first young campers, the site served as an experimental arboretum, and it has been providing summer youth programs for decades. From 1936 to 1975, Clatsop County leased the Camp Kiwanilong property to the Girl Scouts. The facility is open for group rentals, and Amy Koch serves as the camp ranger.
