Yamhill Carlton Together Cares Summer Programs include New Adventure Summer Camps, Summer Tiger Academy, and several aide roles such as Youth Work Experience (YWE), Summer Camp Aides, Summer Tiger Academy Aides, Work Crew Aides, and Kids Camp Aides. New Adventure Summer Camps focus on different topics that include music, art, sports, science, and cultural explorations, and combine games with hands-on learning. Youth Work Experience (YWE) is described as the foundation of Yamhill Carlton Together Cares summer programs and is described as crucial to the strength and success of their other programs and charitable works of the community. YWE is described as arguably the most unique program in Oregon for youth 13–17 years old and offers employment opportunities for youth to actively engage with their community in a variety of ways. The Youth Work Experience connects workers with adults and businesses in their community and gives them the chance to serve as role models for their peers and younger youth.
Summer Tiger Academy runs from 7:30am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday and takes a small break the last week of August before school begins, with the 4th of July off. The mission of Yamhill Carlton Together Cares is to keep youth actively engaged throughout the summer months with affordable programs that continue to grow to meet the community’s needs. The leadership team includes Erin Kutter (President), Elizabeth McGuire (Vice President), Chelsea Ewing (Secretary), Makala Burkhardt (Treasurer), Danielle Rodriguez (Public Information Officer), and Bekki Jansen, April Busser, Julie Warner, and Natalie Nonamaker as Members at Large.
