About
Made Institute Youth Programs offers activities in sewing, pattern making, interior design, and weekend sewing. The program also includes Portfolio Prep, after school options, summer camp, workshops, a Fashion Certificate Program, a Fashion Business Accelerator, and a Couture Intensive. Courses meet once a week and are structured as six classes spread over six weeks.
• Schedule: Courses meet once a week for six weeks (a total of six classes)
Since 2012, Made Institute has offered creative education through direct-to-learn pathways and operates on a part-time schedule with classes available during the day, evening, and weekends. The organization offers intergenerational and all-level pathways, with youth options that include college prep, after-school, and summer camp. Studio memberships provide access to the studio and all equipment for as long as a person is a member.
Made Institute Youth Programs is led by a team that includes Rachel Ford (CEO & Program Director) and staff such as instructors in sewing, pattern making, interior design, fashion illustration, drawing and portfolio development, fiber arts, jewelry making, and industry seminars. Made Institute is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, State Board of Private Licensed Schools, and is currently ineligible to receive Federal Financial Aid but offers payment plans. The community at Made Institute values inclusivity, diversity, and the inherent dignity of all members.
