Coatesville Youth Initiative

Coatesville Youth Initiative is an independent non-profit organization that engages youth in experiences that support their success in school and in life. The organization trains youth leaders, enhances family relationships, encourages prevention education, and builds community collaboration. It is committed to youth-led, transformational community change and unites a wide range of partners to make the community better for everyone.

Started in 2008, Coatesville Youth Initiative operates as an independent not-for profit corporation. Its mission is to contribute to a vibrant future for Coatesville by engaging youth in experiences that support their success in school and in life, and by uniting a wide range of partners to make the community better for everyone. CYI leverages the talents, expertise and diversity throughout the community to build trust, work together, and share resources, and is committed to youth-led, transformational community change.

The leadership team includes Jarvis Berry – Executive Director; David James – Development Director; Vickie Dennison – Office Manager / Administrative Assistant; Samantha (Sammy) Carter – Program Director; Kure McDonald – Program Coordinator - Community Resources; Katy Grosse – Program & Marketing Coordinator / Program Coordinator - Youth & Families; and Holly Charest – Program Coordinator – Community Resources. The board is chaired by Jennifer C. McNeil – Community Philanthropist, with Larry Welsch as Board Treasurer and Anna Marie Noble as Board Secretary. Additional board members are Dayvon Bladen; Ajenè Livingston; Lindsay Myers; Collin Raysor; Darya Sabocsik; Lila Singleton; Greg Smore; and Mary Lou Sterge.
