The YMCA of Greater Brandywine states that its mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy mind, body and spirit for all. The organization is a non-profit that serves the community in and surrounding Chester County, PA, and hosts events, community engagement opportunities, and a matching gift challenge planned for June 1 through June 9 to support programs and financial assistance initiatives. The YMCA of Greater Brandywine reports providing $2.8 million in financial assistance to support access to programs and care, and it notes that it celebrates the 175th anniversary of the YMCA in America with community-wide initiatives.

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine has been named a Top Workplace 2026 by The Philadelphia Inquirer for the third year in a row. The association highlights programs that connect people, strengthen bodies, and inspire growth, and it offers an Activity Finder tool that allows families to explore programs and filter by age, day and time, location, or activity. The YGBW Fit Truk, powered by YMCA experts and local healthcare partners, serves both YMCA members and the broader community.
