Camp Wonderkin

Camp Wonderkin offers science projects, art projects, outdoor activities, STEAM labs, and workshops. The program includes process based art experiences and process based STEAM lab classes, and also offers birthday parties for children. Each Wonder Kit connected to the program includes a beautiful children's book as inspiration, supplies for four science and art projects, access to video tutorials, and outdoor prompts.

Camp Wonderkin describes itself as a nature based STEAM camp and mobile process based STEAM lab. The mission of Camp Wonderkin states that everything the program does is centered around the natural world and that studies in science, art, literature, or magic can be discovered outdoors. The mission also states that life and learning at Camp Wonderkin are about the process rather than the end result, and that learning happens through exploration, example, and environment.

The leadership team includes Cate Liguori, Marissa Talecki (M.Ed.), Christen Young (M.Ed.), and Kate Steller. According to the program, Cate Liguori earned a BA in marketing, holds yoga and pilates certifications, and has over 20 years of experience in the equine world training and teaching young horses and riders. Marissa Talecki is described as a former Special Education teacher and Literacy Coach. Christen Young holds a BA in art education with a level 2 certification in art K–12 and a master of education in curriculum design. Kate Steller holds a bachelor’s degree in professional studies with a minor in education and psychology, as well as a Child Life Certificate.

Camp Wonderkin states that a tree will be planted for every Wonder Kit sold and every camp registration received. Testimonials describe children engaging with daily activities from a Happy Camp Kit, enjoying STEAM labs, and participating in process based projects and sensory activities at birthday parties.
