PA Camp Cadet is a week long camp where cadets take part in morning physical training, march in platoon formations, and attend instructional sessions. Cadets learn about the use of police radar, fingerprinting, forensic photography, drug prevention, SCUBA and rescue operations, and juvenile law. The camp also includes recreational activities and team sports, and each day begins with reveille and ends with retreat formation.

• Schedule: Week long camp; registration opens February 9–April 10, 2026, and camp dates are June 7–12, 2025
• Price: Camp Cadet is free to Cadets and their families.
The camp is staffed by State Police Troopers, Municipal Officers, and other Volunteers, and past instructors have included the F.B.I., Secret Service, Berks County Correctional Officers, D.E.A., I.N.S., and others. Camp Cadet supplies cadets with three well-balanced meals per day, and cadets awaken early and prepare their quarters for inspection. Requirements include residency in Erie, Crawford, Warren, or Venango counties, not having attended the camp in a previous year, completing an interview with camp staff before acceptance, having a medical waiver signed by a physician before camp, and having the desire to participate in all physical activities at camp. The leadership contact listed for the program is Trooper Cindy Schick, Staff Services Section, Community Services Officer. The purpose of the camp is to instill self-discipline, self-respect, and self-esteem in the cadets, and to give cadets a chance to establish a positive relationship with law enforcement personnel. Camp Cadet is free to cadets and their families because of support from businesses and the community.
