YMCA Camp Kon-O-Kwee Spencer includes activities such as splashing in the pool, hiking through the woods, campfire songs, and silly games. Campers also take part in environmental studies, nature walks, and wildlife observation as part of the program’s offerings.

YMCA Camp Kon-O-Kwee Spencer is part of the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh and offers Summer Overnight Camp for Kids, Outdoor Environmental Education, Family and Parent-Child Programs, and Retreats and Group Programs in a natural setting. The camp has been providing transformative camp experiences for children, families, and communities for more than 90 years and is turning 100 in 2026. Programs are centered on core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and faith, and camp integrates the YMCA’s four core values of honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility, as well as a special Tremendous Ten, into all camp programs. The leadership team includes Mike “Mack” McElhinney as Executive Director, Tim Shank as Property Director, Jim Surrena as Maintenance Supervisor, and Rob Coyne as Food Service General Manager. YMCA Camp Kon-O-Kwee Spencer provides transformative and unforgettable camp experiences to children, families, and members of the community and sets clear, measurable goals to ensure each camper has a safe, meaningful, and impactful experience. The camp also offers an Outdoor Education program that provides students with a learning experience in a natural setting and a Counselor in Training Program for high schoolers entering 11th grade who are ready to take steps toward becoming camp counselors and positive role models. Juna (boys) and Gena (girls) campers, ages 7–9, experience camp in a safe, supportive, and fun environment.
