Discovery Place Preschool is an extension of St. Matthew Lutheran Church's Christian Education program. The program currently offers preschool classes for three and four-year-old children.

Discovery Place Preschool has been an active outreach ministry for the Hanover area since 1995. Its mission is to "Provide a positive preschool experience where children can develop spiritually, socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically in a fun, loving and secure environment." The program supports the church's vision to "Celebrate God's Love and Serve in Jesus' Name." It celebrates that each child is a unique and glorious gift from God. The staff recognizes the importance of building positive relationships with each student and their parents or guardians, with a common goal of providing an environment that allows each child to experience success, grow in self-confidence, and develop a love of school and learning. The program is led by Director Amy Wolf.
