COB51 Art Studio offers ceramic painting, mosaics, wood designs, canvas painting, stained glass classes, and beginner glass blowing using Glaskolben. The studio also hosts birthday parties, adult BYOB parties, bridal showers, baby showers, and team building events. Stained glass classes include all instruction, glass, tools, and supplies, and teach the entire stained glass process in about a 4 hour time frame.

• Schedule: Walk-in and pick-ups are available Wednesday and Thursday 11am–7pm, Friday and Saturday 11am–9pm, and Sunday 11am–5pm, with events, parties, private events, and classes available for booking outside those walk-in hours; stained glass classes run about 4 hours.

COB stands for Create Outside the Box, and the “51” comes from the first address in Westminster, MD, where the studio opened in 2015. The studio has grown from a 1,000 square foot shop to over 2,700 square feet and includes a walk-in art studio area, a middle area for classes such as stained glass and glass blowing, and a private party room that can seat 20 kids with room for about 8 adults to move through. The studio has hosted over 2,000 birthday parties in the past 8 years, is a BYOB studio, and offers canvas painting both during scheduled events and as a walk-in option. COB51 Art Studio uses a laser cutting machine to cut all of its own mosaic bases, cuts all wood projects in house, and can make custom wood pieces such as cars, characters, animals, objects, and signs. Beginner glass blowing uses propane torches and pre-formed tubes called Glaskolbens, and the finished baubles can be used as ornaments, water globes for small house plants, or decorative pieces in a vase. Lisa 1 and Lisa 2 are described as Chief Fun Directors, and studio assistants are named Kate, Casey, and Becky.
