So's Taekwondo has been empowering Hanover, PA and surrounding areas with martial arts, summer camp, and after school programs since 1976. The leadership team includes Derek So, who is a 3rd generation Taekwondo school owner. The mission statement for the program is “So's Taekwondo: Empowering Hanover, One Black Belt at a time.” The program is described as proudly serving Hanover and surrounding communities.

The program features schedule-focused programs with convenient class times. It offers a community atmosphere where kids learn positive habits and adults make meaningful, lasting friendships. Programs are values oriented, emphasizing mental and emotional benefits in addition to physical prowess. Activities are movement based, where kids and adults gain flexibility, agility, and strength, and are described as inclusive and accommodating at every step. The program uses structured activity based on extensive experience to make kids feel safe and cared for. It emphasizes full inclusion, with no cliques, no “cool kids club,” and no unkind actions or attitudes. The curriculum is designed specifically for the average person to build skills step by step. There is a focus on mental health, including clearing the mind, accomplishing goals, and being more healthy from the inside out. The program also emphasizes physical skills such as proprioception, balance, and agility. It is described as the favorite choice of Hanover families for children’s and teens’ physical, mental, and emotional development and as a facility for adults to improve physical health and mental wellness.

Member feedback includes a parent who shared that their daughter started at the school a year and a half ago and that the family is very happy, noting that she loves the instructors, staff, and activities, and that she participates in weekly classes, the after school program, and the summer camp. Another family reported attending for over three years and described the staff as great, inspiring, and motivated, and said that the school teaches foundational character traits and that they have been thankful to be part of So’s.
